Chief Bruce J. Davis of the South Simcoe Police Service was a recipient of the Order of Merit at a ceremony at Rideau Hall on Thursday May 22nd, 2008. The award was presented to Chief Davis by Her Excellency the Right Honorable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada. Prime Minister Stephen Harper was also on hand to congratulate Chief Davis. The Order was created in October 2000 to recognize conspicuous merit and exceptional service by members and employees of the Canadian Police Services whose contributions extend beyond protection and community. Congratulations to Chief Davis!
