Impaired Driving/Over 80 mgs
(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, November 09, 2017, around 10:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a call in the area of Holland Street West and Church Street in Bradford regarding a two vehicle collision. The choice to drink and drive added with the poor weather conditions were the ingredients that resulted in this collision. While speaking to the drivers involved, the officer noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from the breath of one of the drivers. A roadside screening device was conducted resulting in a FAIL. The driver was taken to the station for further testing.
A 59 year old man from Bradford has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80mgs. His car was towed and impounded for 7 days and his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.
He will appear in Bradford Court in December to answer to these charges.
(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police responded to a home in Innisfil on Thursday, November 09, 2017, regarding a fraud that took place over the internet. The victim was convinced to send money to help a man stationed overseas be released of his duties. The victim became suspicious and reported this to both the police and her bank. Unfortunately, the victim is now out a quantity of money.
Police remind people to use common sense and caution to avoid becoming a victim.
Break and Enter
(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, November 08, 2017, South Simcoe Police received a call just after 5 a.m. for a break and enter that had occurred at a franchise restaurant in Alcona. When the employee arrived to work she noticed the front glass door to be smashed. The security footage shows a car pulling up to the main door just before 5 a.m., a male getting out and smashing the door and making entry into the store. He is seen leaving shortly after out the front door with only the "tip" box containing an unknown small amount of change.
