Child Abandonment

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, July 1, 2017, around 1:45 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were summoned to a Bradford bar for an intoxicated man who would not leave. The man became belligerent with the officers and was arrested due to his drunken state. Officers went to the man's home to see if an occupant could take care of him but there was no answer at the door. The man was held at the police station to sober up. Around 6:00 a.m., the arresting officer learned from the man that his two year old son was home alone. The child was located at the home and taken to hospital as a precaution. He was found to be in good health and turned over to the Children's Aid Society.

A 33 year old Bradford man was held in custody for a bail hearing, charged with Abandoning a Child and Fail To Provide the Necessities of Life.

Impaired Driving

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, July 1, 2017, just before noon, a woman called 9-1-1 and told the call taker that she was lost and had drank too much. Responding officers found the woman at her car on County Road 27 in Bond Head. She was obviously impaired by alcohol and taken into custody.  After testing at the station, a 43 year old Toronto woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgs. Her licence has been suspended for 90 days and her car impounded. She will appear in court in July.

 

Mischief Under $5000

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, July 1, 2017, just before 1:00 a.m., a man was seen damaging a Bell box on Barrie Street in Bradford. He was later picked up by officers for Public Intoxication and the mischief came to light. The 21 year old Bradford man was charged with Mischief Under $5000. He will appear in court in July.

 

Domestic Assault

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, June 30, 2017, just before midnight, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to an Innisfil home for a domestic assault. A woman called police to report that she had been thrown about and elbowed by her boyfriend. A 27 year old man was arrested at the scene and charged with Domestic Assault. He was released to an August court date and must reside elsewhere and avoid the victim. The victim did not require medical attention.

 

Possession Of Stolen Automobile

(Bradford, ON) On Friday, June 30, 2017, around 8:45 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service constable stopped a car for numerous Highway Traffic Act offences. During the investigation, the officer discovered that the vehicle was actually stolen and the driver had altered the vehicle identification number in order to conceal that fact. A 52 year old Bradford man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Alter VIN. Additionally, he was charged with Drive Under Suspension and several other Highway Traffic Act offences. He will appear in court in August.

 

Assault

(Innisfil, ON)The South Simcoe Police Service is asking for the assistance of the public in identifying a man who assaulted a youth at a Stroud skateboard park. On Friday, June 30, 2017, just before midnight, the 13 year old victim was at the park with friends. A man approached the group and was acting strangely. He took the victim's scooter for a ride but refused to return it.

When the victim forcibly took the scooter back, the suspect chased him, falling on top of the youth. The victim left the scene and called police.

The suspect is described as male, white, in his 30s, around 175 cm tall (5'9) and 68 kg (150 lbs) He has black hair and a black beard. He had a full sleeve of tattoos on one arm and a half sleeve on the other. He was wearing grey T-shirt, ripped jeans and brown sandals. Domestic Assault

(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, July 2, 2017, just after midnight, South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to an Innisfil home for a domestic assault. A woman told officers that she had been pushed down by her boyfriend during an argument. She also revealed another assault which occurred in March.

Officers searched for the man at his home and were able to locate him in a wooded area behind his house.

A 51 year old Innisfil man was held in custody for a bail hearing, charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault. The victim did not require medical attention.

 

Assault With A Weapon

(Bradford, ON) On Monday, July 3, 2017, around 2:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to an assault call in downtown Bradford. The found a man bleeding on the sidewalk and learned that the victim had been assaulted outside a bar. A suspect description was obtained, as well as surveillance video. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Later that day, around 10:30 a.m., another assault call was dispatched, this time to a home in Bradford. A man told officers that he had assaulted by a neighbour, threatened and had a window broken by a thrown beer bottle. A man and woman were both arrested at the scene. The officers realized that the man was also the suspect in the earlier assault.

A 29 year old Bradford woman was charged with two counts of Uttering Threats and Fail To Comply Undertaking.

A 29 year old Bradford man was charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and Mischief Under $5000. Charges are also pending against him for the overnight bar assault.

They were both held in custody for a bail hearing.
