Child Left Unattended
(Bradford) On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, around 8:20 p.m., South Simcoe Police were called to Breeze Drive in Bradford after two boys playing hockey outside found a lost child wandering the street without a coat. The boys took the 5 year old girl home and found no answer at her house. The boys' mother came outside and gave the shivering child a jacket. Shortly thereafter, the family of the girl arrived home and police were called. Officers determined that the girl had been left unattended for 35 minutes while her uncle slept upstairs.
A 40 year old Bradford man was charged under the Child and Family Services Act with Leaving A Child Unattended. The child did not require medical attention.
South Simcoe Police applaud the actions of the boys and their mother in this case. Parents are reminded that small children must be left in the care of a responsible person at all times.
(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, an Innisfil resident spoke to a South Simcoe Police officer about a fraud. She had received an email from an unknown address about a government grant. She willingly supplied her driver's licence information to apply for the grant but grew suspicious when she was told she would have to pay cash in order to receive the grant.
The victim was not defrauded of any money and did not give any banking information.
